Orientation days part 1

I am not a fan of orientations. We have basically been talking about the same things for 2 days. Yesterday we had a 3 hour orientation with SAI and then 1 hour with pilazzi. Pilazzi is the group of schools including DIVA (photography and digital art), FAST (fashion and accessories), Apicius (hospitality, my school), FUA (florence univeristy of the arts), and Squola (italian language). They were basically about safety and general stuff. AFter that we dropped by DIVA to see about internet. Lots of people got these modems that allow you to access the internet from anywhere in Italy. So if you wanted to take your laptop and sit on the street you could. Its 195 Euro. Since I have to desire to take my laptop random places in danger of being stolen or to pay that much money, I was hoping for cheaper alternative. We found a wireless router in our apartment and were told to contact this man at one of the schools. So we went and he informed us that wireless was free and he needed some number from our computers for security reasons. yay! Later that day was the welcome reception for SAI. We didn't go for long but there was this amazing chandelier. My mom knows I have a new obsession with chandeliers and I want one so bad. I wish that I could ship this baby back to Texas!

After that the 6 of us from Via Dei Pepi, 73 went to dinner. We went to a restaurant called Acqua per Dua and it was amazing. Sorta pricey but we splurged. It was so worth the 10 euros I paid! YUM!!! Then we came home a mooched off someones internet :) Today (Thursday) we took our computers bright and early and got what we thought was the right password. It still didn't work at the apartment. So we went to find Meghan's luggage. It wasn't there and that was pretty tragic. I can't imagine not having my luggage!! We found a precious cafe that was very very Italian. No one there spoke English. It was slightly confusing but also so fun! I have a pinino pomodoro e mozerella. Which is basically a mozerella and tomato sandwich. It was wonderful. I got the pinino and a diet coke (!) for 4 euro! Then we went grocery shopping. I have been really really wanting some fruit. I also got bread, granola, and some other stuff. We also finally went to il duomo and ate gelato on the steps. I asked for hazelnut and the man told me to try strawberry hazelnut. Usually I dont mix my food but when in rome (or florence) right?! It was actually so good!

We have a student life orientation in 45 minutes which I hope will be better than the first two! We've been so busy I have had literally no time to explore and take pics. We have a sorta busy next two days but Sunday we're planning to Explore. We're trying to find some grass cause there is literally none. I'll definitely update then. Until then here are some random thoughts

*I have been so blessed. We got a great apt that is closed to everything, has wireless, and an oven
*Dogs poop on the sidewalk and the street and no one cleans it up
*The weather is way better than Texas
*Many of you will be glad to know that I am drinking mostly water!

Ciao!

Sounds like scooping poop would be a good service project! JK. Thanks be to our Lord for blessing His beautiful daughter so richly! I love you. Mom
