Well, its officially official. Tuition has been paid, flight has been booked, and housing assignments have been sent out. Unfortunately bags have not been packed or thought about. No surprise there! Its unreal to think that something that I've dreamed about doing since my first trip to Europe in 2007 has finally come true. On that trip I fell in love with travelling and new experiences. On my senior trip I fell in love with Florence. This trip will be way different. I will be on my own, going to class, and without my high school friends. However, I will be taking amazing classes, travelling to new places, and making new friends. I can't wait to immerse myself in culture and see new places. There are many things that make me anxious and nervous, but nothing is worth doing if its not a risk. I always feel much more accomplished if I step out of my comfort zone and overcome fears. I am so thankful to have such a supportive family and encouraging friends. I know that this will be such a learning experience and one that will change my outlook on life. I could not be more excited! Being slightly ocd I looove lists! So here it goes!
Things I'm excited about: real Italian food
my apartment/meeting new roomies
being completely on my own
Italian wine
seeing places in Europe that I've never seen
walking practically everywhere
taking tons of pictures
going to class
Christmas shopping for the family
Things I will miss:My parents, brother and sister-in-law
the 5 girls that make my life amazing
My wonderful RSC friends and roomies
all my friends and talking to them everyday
being able to understand everyone (as in I do not speak Italian, yet)
Thanksgiving with my family
Things that make me nervous:finding my way around (I have
absolutely no directional skills)
learning Italian
There are so many things I am thankful for! I can't wait to leave and finally arrive in
ITALY!
ciao
